How awesome is this!? Denver, Colorado will host its first Comic Book Convention next summer, June 15th-17th. The even will be hosted at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. So far guests include Jason Aaron (scalped, Wolverine, Ultimate Captain America and this summers big X-event, Schism), Rebekah Isaacs (Angle and Faith, DV8, Magus) and Noah Van Sciver (Blammo, MOME). More guests will be announced soon as the event gets closer.
The best part is that all the profit from the event is going to 5280 Comic Book Classroom, a great non profit that we have been supporting for a while now.
Denver Comic Con will also host the Rocky Mountain Conference on Comics and
Graphic Novels.
Rocky Mountain Conference on Comic and Graphic Novels will take place June 14-16, 2012, location TBA, as part of the larger Comic Con experience.
The literary conference gives students, teachers, professors, and established scholars the opportunity to present critical papers to an audience of peers from a variety of scholarly settings, and participate in resulting discussions. Presenters and attendees alike have the opportunity to hear papers and discussion panels on topics of interest to further their work or potentially publish said work.
We will definitely keep you all posted as more news develops! Sounds like its going to be a great time next summer, the same summer The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man come out!
