Marcos Supports Another “Important Movement”

29 Nov

After a few rants on Twitter and Facebook I wanted to add more fuel to the situation by sharing this video.  Although I take the Occupy Wall Street Movement a lot more serious I still think the growing negative feedback (maybe movement?) over E! and their prize piglet, The Kardashians touches on some very important points regarding what’s wrong with this country.  I won’t  use this blog to talk about all the issues I have with these horrible human beings.  I could though.   I could go on and on about how the Kardashians have no real talents or how they  do nothing to enrich the lives of their viewers or the world they live in.  I could even talk about how their shows (growing number of shows) spit in the face of all women everywhere and all the progress they have made through blood sweat and tears over the last century.  Then I might talk about how the total lack of any redeeming human qualities and their not so subtle promotion of a shallow and materialistic lifestyle rubs off onto those that are more impressionable.  I could talk about all those things but I won’t.  I think I’ve made my point a few times and judging by the growing number of fans on the Boycott The Kardashian’s Facebook page (link follows the video) I can see that I’m not alone in my disgust.

But let’s not be unrealistic.  The agonizingly long 15 minutes will end for The Kardshians.  There is no doubt about this.  Just look at Paris Hilton.  And let’s not be naive and assume that the Kim and her 2 sisters (3 if you count the mom) are going to be the last rotting pile of human decay that networks like E! will shove down our throats.  Its all about supply and demand.  If the demand wasn’t there neither would all of these staged reality shows.  Maybe we can be more specific  about the next “it girl” that we demand as viewers.  Even if she is a singer or actress with some talent that sells out to be on E! that would be a serious step forward.  My brother mentioned a TV interview a few months back with Chloe Kardashian.  Under her name it had the word actress.  That ladies and gentlemen is my biggest gripe with this whole thing.  As a talented, hardworking and smart creative person who has been breaking his back for nearly a decade to break into the entertainment industry, I can think of nothing more offensive than these girls running around calling themselves actresses.  But I digress.  I don’t have anymore time to devote to this so I’ll let these fantastic and hillarious videos say what else needs to be said.

Very nice. Couldn’t have said it better. It says a whole lot about our culture that these are the people and the things that we value in that without demand, there would be no “Kim and Khloe take a dump in New York” or whatever’s next.
