Marcos Presented with Award from Denver Public Schools Office of Multicultural Outreach

28 Nov

Marcos receiveing his award at Lincoln High School.

Although the DeVelo magazine release party and performance that featured 4 live versions of songs that will appear in December release of The Circus House LP, another notable Blackout Beat story also happened earlier that day.  Marcos Garibay was presented an award of recognition for his continued involvement and support of Denver public schools and the work he has done to promote multicultural outreach and parent participation.  The award was presented to Marcos during an education fair that was hosted Denver Public School’s  Office of Multicultural Outreach.  The event featured booths from several different colleges, scholarship programs, community resources as well as a luchador wrestling  demo and a magic show for the small kids that served as a great introduction  into the black arts.

The Blackout Beat in Argentina!!

13 Jul

There were several beautiful pics of Rosario but I just thought this street mural was awesome.

Yes!  We are happy to announce that we are involved in the Argentinian night life!  Armando and I have been tasked with creating original music mixes and videos for an event in the Argentine city of Rosario.  The entertainment we are providing is for an event called El dia del Amigo.  I forgot to mention the most interesting part, all of the music and video we are doing is from the 80’s!    The video will be playing during the meal and show and then our music mix will be played after during the dance/club portion of the evening.  Just as we finished work for this project we got word that we would be doing a Latin mix for another Miami themed club night!   We’ll update you on that once we have more info! The 80’s club night launches on July 20th, so if your in the area make sure you have your hair permed up and your neon blazers with shoulder pads ready!
